HARLEQUINS XMAS PARTY

George writes,

“This years club champs are being held at Habberly Valley*. Afterwards (From 12:00 to 16:00 hrs) Wilden village hall is the venue for a get together. To exchange Christmas cards, have a chat, review your run and participate in our annual bring-and-win charity raffle**

*Of course George means “Hartlebury Common” - and remember don't drive all the way to “Highgate Common” and then read the details properly and arrive late for the start as I once did.

**Previous prizes have included “A gourmet meal for two”, “A loaf of Russ's special*** Bread”, Wine, Chocolates, Other Nice Stuff.

***I think the special was to do with beer – but it was very very nice and if I win again this year I shall no doubt be choosing Russ's bread for my prize.

Anyway...

“The hall is located in the centre of Wilden next to the school close to the church. From the B4193 (Stourport to Hartlebury road) that runs along the northern side of the common, turn first left after the small island in stourport. After going under the railway bridge the Hall is on the right past the church. There is limited parking at the Hall but the majority will have to park on the roadside. Following this road will lead to Kidderminster, and the A449. Map Ref SO825723 (click here for a map)”

“Facilities available include warm heating, table and chairs tea and coffee and fizzy pop (Coke). Goodies to eat will have to be provided by you. Also you will need to bring a mug or beaker.”

George adds :

The Hall has a very nicely polished dance floor – it is used for Ballroom Classes. Please bring suitable shoes or thick warm socks. Definitely no spikes or muddy trainers or YOU will have to clean it afterwards!

October 2003: Kingsmill Free Kit For Clubs:
George says:
"Harlequins has been registered in the above scheme, please join in and help your club obtain new kit at no cost to us. Tokens must be carefully cut out and brought along to Harlequin events, where they will be collected at Enquires.
Make sure you tell your friends, that you are collecting and get them to tell their friends and family. Put a note in your newsagent's or notice board at work. If every member gets three non-members to collect at three loaves a week. That equates to a huge amount of kit."
